Terms & conditions

The agreement.

These terms govern your use of Mont. By creating an account, joining the list or using the app, you agree to them. Mont is in private development, so some details will be finalized before public launch.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, accessing or using Mont (the “Service”), including this site, the early-access list and the app, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy & security notice. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility & your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. Your account is personal: you're responsible for the accuracy of your information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. If you think someone else is using it, change your password and contact us.

3. Private development & “as is”

Mont is offered during a private-development / early-access period. The Service may change, break, or become temporarily unavailable. It is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Don't rely on Mont as your only record of important information.

4. Your content

You keep all rights to the content you put into Mont. You grant us a limited license to store, process and display it solely to operate the Service for you, for example, to categorize your expenses and generate your insights. We don't claim ownership of your content and we don't sell it.

5. Financial information is not advice

Mont helps you organize and understand your money. It does not provide financial, investment, legal, tax or accounting advice. Figures and summaries may be incomplete or wrong; the decisions you make are your own.

6. Bank sync

Bank sync is optional and depends on a third-party aggregator. We don't guarantee its availability, or that your bank data is always current: a connection can break, your bank can block it, and information may arrive delayed, incomplete, or with errors that originate at your bank or at the aggregator. Mont displays the data as it receives it, and reconciles your balance to the figure your bank reports. Your bank remains the authoritative record.

You may only connect accounts you're entitled to access. Mont is not a bank or a financial institution and does not move money: bank connections are read-only, and we can't make payments, transfers or any other change to your accounts.

We may suspend, limit or discontinue bank sync, for example because of a provider outage or a security concern, without that affecting the rest of the Service. If we do, you can keep using Mont and enter your movements manually.

7. Subscriptions & payments

Mont offers an optional paid plan (Premium, for one person or as a two-seat Duo) as an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or annually through your Apple App Store account. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's App Store subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel it. Payments, refunds and billing disputes are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. If we change prices, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we'll give you reasonable notice first.

8. Acceptable use

The Service is for your personal use. You agree not to break the law or infringe others' rights using the Service; not to attempt to access accounts, data or systems that aren't yours; not to resell, copy or reverse-engineer the Service; and not to probe, overload or interfere with the Service or its security.

9. Privacy & your data

Your data stays yours. How we collect, protect and use it, including what our AI features send to our AI provider, is described in our Privacy & security notice, which forms part of these terms. We don't share your personal data with third parties beyond what that notice describes.

10. Termination & liability

You can stop using Mont and delete your account at any time; you can export your data before you leave. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or put the Service or other users at risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mont and its makers won't be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. If a dispute arises, we'll first try to resolve it amicably: write to us and we'll respond. Any dispute that can't be resolved that way will be decided by the competent courts of Mexico.

12. Changes & contact

We may update these terms as Mont evolves; we'll change the date above and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Questions? Email patovw@gmail.com.
